    lol! It's weird, you used a polariser after I said I could see detail with one, then I was inspired by your Meade gizmo to stack two polarisers. I've been using a two polariser stack for days now observing detail on a twilight Venus.

    Haha, cross-inspiration! I've been spending more time with Venus than ever before. I usually only bother when it becomes a large crescent, now I look at it every clear evening with the polarizer. I took some more interesting images that I'll probably post, soon. I'm trying to get a good Saturn image now before Mars takes all my attention.

    I could see a lot of detail last night, it can vary hugely. It was faint but quite visible at 133x ~ 143x. I might have break from Venus and Jupiter tonight and go out later for Saturn and maybe Mars. I'll use the ST80 but pretty soon I'm going to try the ST102. That's a bit more complicated for me though, because of my disability. Plus, I have the 127mm Mak, and if Saturn and Mars are well placed I can use my 150mm Newtonian. If I'm really lucky I'll get the Big Cat set up a bit later in the summer. It's all on the bloody weather lol!
