...is very small. I just wanted one wide field eyepiece for low magnification, a mid-range eyepiece, and a relatively high magnification eyepiece. That way, I don't have to decide too much, because I don't have many choices! I like them a lot , though. The 40mm is perfect for eyeglass wearers, and it's my most used eyepiece. As many scopes as eyepieces - that's impressive! I have quite a few more than three EPs in total, but generally bring out only 3-6. I enjoy having a lot of options in the planning [daydreaming] stage, but prefer simplicity once I'm under the stars. And I like to keep my eyepieces in my pockets while I observe, for ease of access but also to keep them warm. The glass is highly prone to fogging during the 8 months of winter where I live. Probably not so big a problem a couple thousand miles south of here. Which is just as well - I doubt those eyepieces would fit in your pockets Gustavo. :D

I probably have 50 to 100 eyepieces but only because I have collected them for ever and many are included in my collection of Japanese Kit telescopes, Nippon Kogaku, Tasco, Unitrons and the like. I do have matched bino sets of TMB Super Monos and Nagler Smoothies I am partial to.

I have what is the rarest set I have found to date, the 1947 Tinsleys that came with my 4" Saturn refractor. They made very few of these and they are never found with the kits. the optics are impeccable. The manuals are both hand typed one is the original Tinsley Saturn Manuel, the other is a 1953 typed Unitron Manuel that came with a brass 1953 4" Unitron

Those KC 12yrs are in fact BV compatible. Some of my favorite pairs....

No more merging issues. And I can get all eight Galilean Moons in the field at once!

    Eduardo:

Oh bom gracioso! E eu pensei que era ruim! LOL! Isso é escandaloso! Eu amo isso!
    E apenas alguns TeleVue® à vista!

    Bonita!

    trans.

Oh good gracious! And I thought I was bad! LOL! That's outrageous! I love it!
And only a few TeleVue® in sight!

    Beautiful!

Hello and welcome, CrazyPanda, it's nice of you to join us!

The TeleVue® Plössl's are excellent EP's and that's why I also have several of these. They are truly remarkable when compared to other Plössl's available out in the wild. :p

So I look foreward to seeing you around and maybe tell us your interests in this amazing 'hobby' of ours!

    Best of Wishes -

    Dave

Nice set, they look like Japanese made Meade 3000's. I tend to prefer Plossls and ortho's without rubber eyeguards.

I'm working on a set of Vixens.

    IMG_20180325_111840.jpg

The second 6mm NPL in the first picture had a borked drawtube, so I swapped it for an old William Optics tube and removed the eyeguard.

Thanks for the welcome Dave. Those aren't my TeleVue Plossls, just my newly re-acquired Meade Series 3000s. I used to have a set when I was a kid, and traded them in over the years. The 40mm is the only one I still have left from those days, the others were acquired on the used market. I like using them in my 4.5" reflector (an old Meade 4500) that was the first scope I bought for myself when I was a kid. Brings back some pretty nostalgic feelings now and again.

I have a couple of TV Plossls (11 and 8) and they are indeed exceptional pieces of glass.

Agreed. No rubber eyeguards and no undercuts. Just how I like 'em!
