    Hello All ACers,
    Post your favorite photos of you and your telescope!

    I have two favorites First up, our good friend George Carrol, Clint Whitman and the Pearl @ Mnt. Pinos at CSPAMP 7. George built my mount in 2000 and approved of the Pearl & the Setup at 8500 feet. We did some solar viewing, looked at all the other classic scopes. George soaked up all the Classic Telescopes and the praise from the men who own them. George was overwhelmed by CSPAMP and all our praise for his life's work. Kudos to George for coming all the way from Victorville to talk with us and share his life's work with us.

    OOO My your so right Lewis. Holly Molly Well good thing Eds not on here. At least he was friends with George. Guess i have the 8" on my mind.

    The Mount is a series II, it weighs around 80 pounds

    I hope so. I dont have any vintage, but LOVE the beauty of them!

    It's hard to follow a photo like yours Clint!!!:eek:

    But here goes. This is me with some of mine... Tasco 10TE, the little Micronta 50/500, Meade LX3, Orbit Scope 2258 f/20, and the scope that started me on the classic journey, the Lafayette F-342.

    Really nice Keith as far as following the pearl I know what you mean. I have only collected one scope since finding the pearl years ago and it a 8" George Carrol refractor...

    I don't have a current one of my 10"f/15 with its vintage Jim Schultz objective..but I have an older one of me and my classic (Homemade) 6"f/15 with the last lens made by the famous optician Art Devany of Northrup and LAAS fame. It sits upon a hydraulic pier that can raise the scope an additional 48" placing the EP right at the right spot for a standing viewer, viewing at zenith. Entire system build by my father and myself.

    Rob that system is DevIney. Every time I see the mount and pier I get a little happier! Its great your continuing your Fathers Passion.. Excellent Bro,,

    Thanks Clint...I recently moved so I had to build a steel track system to roll the scope out of the garage to its viewing location. The cement is quite rough and so I needed to create some form of track to make the transition much nicer and a steel track made sense at this time.

    Well, I don't think this applies as your average classic telescope, but neither does clint's I guess! This is the Wilmington college 16" cases Cave I acquired when they called me to see if I wanted to save it. They were going to push it off the roof of the science center during the centers remodel. I said yes

    Ya Turk. that is the Classic Monster. Have you restored it yet? I dont get on Clouded Tights much lately.

    I took everything to a barn I own and that is where the restoration will be done. I've not done much other than clean and partially restor the 6" guide scope (Jaegers). It's glass is so-so but used a 40mm eyepiece that makes it alright for the purpose. Not the "perfect" quality you would want as a stand alone.

    So I plan on working it in over the winter months. I have gas and electricity n the barn so it makes a nice place to work in the cold!

    Hey Tom will you adopt me if I move to OHIO. I am really good at stripping paint off parts and I have lost 60 pounds in the last year so I don't eat much! :rolleyes::p

    By the way the pier is incredible! Was that directly from Cave? Second question, did you receive any feedback about the optical quality of the mirror? Do you know anyone with a 20" optical flat? LOL Big incredible piece of equipment you have there Bro...

    The pier is from cave.

    I know someone with a perfect 24" flat. It was tested by the Brashear company and deemed the best they've ever seen. Educate me. How is it used?
