Flying out of Dubai at the ungodly hour of 0300 just been out of the airport and managed to spot a star.it's high declanation should have given it away but I hoped it would be something exotic like canopus but no my phones star app.told me it was that other first magnitude c of the skies, not castor but capella!a star I can look at 365 days a year if it's clear it being circumpolar at home.very little seen of this trip, deneb,Vega, Altair, formalhault, alpha and beta grus(the only one's below my horizon at home),cappella, the moon and sun.sort of astronomy I've seen amazing sunsets over the Persian gulf. Well I think I'll get to either Oman or Jordan in early 2018 they should offer more formidable stargazing away from Muscat or Amman.
