If white leds could be my only problem.. Where I live, we have a couple of new greenhouses with lights.. 2 for cannabis 1 for lettuce and a new one for tomatoes..

it's destroying the sky like I have never seen before.. this is crazy.. Cityhall has massive amount of complaints apparently.. including me.

@jgroub I want to try the Plato exercise now, in an attempt to see some of these small cratelets. Interesting exercise from your article, a good way to try a couple of filters too.

My new UHC filter is out for delivery so I'm waiting for that.
I do now that some of the lighting around here has already been changed over to LED. I know that some of the shopping center parking lots have done so. I'll just have to try an see how well it does for me.

I just got it. It seems kind of strange. Is your UHC filter the same the whole way a crossed? What I just got has a clear line around the edge then a pink band then a large bluish center portion.

    Hemm odd description.

My OIII has a thin +-clear line around the edge which I think it's ok.. otherwise the surface is uniform. it's magenta on one angle and green on another angle.

What is the brand of your filter, do you have a picture of it ?

Here it is. It is a difficult thing to try an photograph. You can somewhat see what I am trying to describe. I tried taking several photos in different ways and this is the only one that kind of shows what I'm trying to tell you about.

I see the line around the edge, similar to mu OIII, the filter is out of focus but the coating, it looks normal. It's a $29 filter.. visual abnormalities are not really a surprise. Usually they cost much more then that for a 1.25"

Perhaps it will work fine anyways.

I paid my OIII 53$ with the taxes and it's not far away from my other higher quality DGM NPB, It's surprising.

Yeah, it's fun! A good way to test out both your seeing, your eyesight, and your patience. (Heh, heh!) It's part of trying to see fun new things on the moon. Here's another blog post on that subject:

Hey, thanks! I appreciate it. Just trying to help and spread knowledge.

The moon is probably my favorite object, i don't mind to much getting 2 weeks of it, it's another cycle but it helps me very much with the practice the sketching.

Obviously jgroub, has I see on you web site, the moon is full of wonders and small things.. some things, I found myself!

    Posidonius that's one impressive crater.

I am currently waiting for Thanksgiving night. According to the weather forecast it might be a good observing night.
I wish I could say that I am waiting on some more EQ but I'm in the process of putting another aquarium together and last night when I flossed my teeth one of them fell apart so I have to call my dentist tomorrow and they devour lots of my money.
The one telescope I was thinking of getting just shot up in price :(
I do have a lot of EQ to use and some of it new. That should keep me busy for awhile.

I am still waiting for some clear skies. It has been almost a month since I have had a clear night...

I was planning on buying a new bigger Newtonian telescope with my Christmas money but now I have to buy my fish a new butt and its going to cost almost as much as the telescope that I have my eye on. I can't be to upset. It is something that is necessary and I do enjoy fish. The telescopes that I get are probably considered low end anyway but I do get a lot of enjoyment out of them. If nothing happens and I can save I could probably get it in a month or two. I still have new gear waiting to be used anyway.

Nothing wrong with "low end" gear, especially if you use it and get enjoyment out of it.
