Working on redoing some of my astronomy journal pages. This is the Observed Objects page / section. There is also a Desired Targets page and a Illusive Targets page. They work together and thing flow thru them.

I am always changing things in my journal trying to improve it. Even the page in the photo above I came up with changes for last night. Like where it says Date First Observed, that will be changed to Date Observed because an object may have more then one entry. All of the pages mentioned above will be in the planning section of my journal so that might make them subsections.
I just now noticed that I made some entries in the wrong column. It is going to get redone anyway. I am going to scooch the angled columns over a bit more.
This page DOES NOT replace the making of nightly log entries.

I can see and understand astronomy being a leisure activity for a lot of people and I know that leisure means different things to different people but it seems like I might be the only one interested in a "working astronomy journal".

Just about everyone I know keeps a journal of some type for their observations.
The last couple of years I have used a digital recorder set on the tripod tray an I can mumble to myself all night. :)
Later I will transfer any important information into my log book.

I also have different ones for different objects, planets, double star measurements, variable star observations and such.

This is a fairly common template for keeping quick viewing information.
I used to use one quite similar but with more information given and a smaller sketching circle.

That looks like a nightly log entry. I want my journal to do more then just record. I want it to be a working journal that is why there is a planning section with things to use to do so.

A journal is as personal as telescope choice, what works best for you :)

I would think that most people would want a working journal but I've been wrong about other things and people are strange.

Why is nobody posting about their journals?
Why don't we all come together over our journals and improve them from learning from each other?

I am not sure of your meaning to working journal but yes people can be strange.
As astronomers we choose to stand in the dark for long periods of time :D

It builds a foundation and helps you with what to do next. I like to use all of my EQ and I'm a beginner. I would like to know what is the minimum for seeing what and that is kind of where I 'm at now.
