    Thank you, Reggie. I'm glad you had opportunity to take such a nice image of the transit.

    I was able to take two quick peeks through my 50mm spotting scope, with Baader filter, of course.

    i caught it too. It's amazing that Mercury is still over 30 million miles from the Sun, and it still looks big! transit 8x11 72dpi.jpg

    That's an awesome shot, squeege! Mercury is a well-defined disc there!

    Unfortunately all I could manage were a couple of quick peeks, which I'm grateful for. I like your image, as well as Squeege's. They are both very realistic as to what I saw in my 50mm spotter.     Yeh, I saw Avani's image. He has a great setup and always takes incredible images. Mercury was so well-defined. I'm getting ready for Mars again, but I probably won't try to do any imaging until it moves into the evening sky. It's only going to be slightly farther away at 38.6 million miles in 2020 than it was last year. I hope it doesn't experience another global dust storm, though, lol.

    Um dia se Deus quiser ainda quero ter um setup de f/d curto para fazer fotos desse tipo.
    Meu sonho era um Lunt Solar mas aqui no Brasil é um sonho quase impossível de realizar.

    Obrigado, Avani! Isso significa muito para mim ouvir isso de você. Essa foi uma de uma série rápida de fotos que eu realmente tirei com a minha Maksutov 127 porque é o único escopo que tenho que pode acompanhar o movimento do céu. Fiquei feliz com os resultados! Ah, sim, Avani, você sabia que eu também sou músico? Eu adoraria fazer um vídeo de algumas de suas imagens e adicionar música algum tempo.
