The discovery of the Spring Albireo led to these attempts to image the entire constellation of Coma Berenices with my DSLR. The first image is a wide shot and the second is with my 300x zoom lens:

It was dim target in Bortle 5-6 skies but not too hard to find between the "butt" of Leo and the tail of the Great Bear (there's a joke there somewhere, lol).

Nicely framed Reggie. It's a big target and quite spread out. Visually I can get most of it in frame with a 24mm Panoptic and my 72ED DS Pro for a 17.5x magnification.

The Baader 72° Aspheric gives me just over 7 arc degrees of true field at 10x when used with the 60 EDF. This frames Coma Berenices really well. The asterism was originally known as the 'tail of the lion' until Queen Berenice of Egypt sacrificed her own hair to the Goddess Aphrodite. Her astrologer assured her that being a baldy was fine and her hair had become a new feature in the night sky. Apparently Will Smith slapped the astrologer one anyway.

Thanks! It's a nice region of sky that I have overlooked until Dave (Mak the Night) peaked my interest in the spring Albireo.
