    Hi All,

    I just got wind of this myself this morning but a family friend who is a professor in the Astronomy department at Caltech is giving a free lecture on the Atacama Large Millimeter telescope Array in Chile.

    If any of you Los Angeles locals are interested you should check it out.

    Dr. John Bally of CU at Boulder just gave a talk about the current state of astronomy to the Denver Astronomical Society at our Holiday Party and discussed ALMA. Yes, the resolution is indeed about TEN TIMES greater than even Hubble, and it is revealing things at a level of detail never seen before - including a protoplanetary disk:
