Hello, my name is Elise. I have always been stargazing! I own a Meade DS -10. Bought it back in 1987. It is a great scope, easy to set up and use, except I have to get low to the ground to see objects overhead.
If anyone has a user manual for it I would LOVE a copy, please, since mine is gone. :)
Stargazing in Alaska is seasonal (spring and fall) since the summer sky is awash in light, and the winter is
usually cloudy in town, and it's too cold to be out for hours. Happy Summer Stargazing!

Hello Anchorage, Alaska. This brings back memories. I was stationed at Elmendorf AFB for three years back in the mid 70's. I built my first telescope while there using Meade optics and a highly modified Jason refractor EQ mount. I even observed during the winter when the skies were clear and cold. My wife would shake her head as I took the scope out into the snow. I still have my snow suit!
