    Hello people -

I am Dave, and I'm up in Northern Vermont - near Lake Champlain. We have beautiful scenery and very little in the way of intrusive lighting. We are very aware of pollution, in all of it's forms, and are not about to muck up our part of this Earth. Heck - we don't even allow billboards on our highways! The state motto is Green Mountain State - and we truly are green.

Hope to see you about the forums. I've been avid about astronomy for over 50 years. So I'll gladly share what I can, and ask about what I'm curious to know of.

    Dark skies -

    Dave

Welcome Dave glad to see you here. Vermont is a beautiful state, its been a few years since the last time I was there but I'm hoping to make a trip there in the coming year to visit some family friends.

Dave it good to see you on AC! this is a good forum with no crazy stuff happening. Hey got a favor to ask... My niece saw one of the shows about your lake monster / thing and she asked me what champ looked like. Will you drop by the lake and snap a couple shots of CHAMP? I will send you some of the Channel Island UFOs on my next fishing trip.. LOL....

    Again welcome

    Clint

CHAMP is rather camera-shy, I'm afraid. And he/she is a protected species under state law here. So we must protect his habitat from idiots draining the lake to find him. Also, if you do see him - you can give him a sandwich or something. Just don't whack him with an oar or paddle - that's illegal here.

Welcome Dave in Vermont. My wife and I visited a relative in Essex Junction, then crossed Lake Champlain by ferry to New York. That was quite a few years back, but I'll bet things haven't changed all that much. Beautiful part of the country, that's for sure. We loved the Adirondacks.

Have you attended Stellafane in Springfield, Vermont? That's what I always dreamed of doing but never made it.

    Lew

Not been to Stellafane as yet. I don't own a vehicle - spent my cash-reserves on astro - but I prefer to do my cruising up & about the Universe anywho. But you never know what the future holds.
