I can be considered an astronomy newbie. My first telescope was one I assembled around a six inch f8 mirror. This was some thirty-five years ago. With it, I was a dedicated DSO observer for four or five years. Then life events intervened and that interest was set aside. A few years ago the interest was rekindled and I started observing again. Then I discovered astronomy websites and became more of an equipment junkie than observer. Hiving discovered the error of my ways, I hope to spend more time on the observing pages than the equipment pages.

I have a couple specific goals regarding my time at this site:
One is to be no worse than a minor annoyance.
The other is to post as little misinformation as possible.
