This is beautiful. What a journey! I got a YouTube notification about NASA posting this video on their official YT page (slightly different intro, and including Spitzer infrared footage, but essentially the same video).

That's interesting. All I seem to get recommended by YouTube are Ladytron videos lol.

I've become a Ladytron fan. Their compelling melodies and stark imagery draw me in (and the girls are HOT!)
This video is a clever one:

I like it! And they use a Korg MS 20 similar to my miniature version (my right hand is playing it):

Maybe they'll let me join the band, lol!

Yeah, I think you're in with a chance Reggie. Apparently they love using vintage 80's synthesisers, so if you've got any of those I think you'll get the gig.

You've got some nice gear in that picture. I'm impressed.

Helen Marnie took a break from Ladytron and did some stuff on her own. Although I think the rest of the band contributed a lot. I think Runaway is from the Volecifero album (I've got all their albums lol).

Brilliant Dave. I've been trying to recall the name of those diffraction patterns for days now. Moiré T-shirts sound cool.

Thanks, Mak. I run a private recording studio where I produce not only music but music video, short films and audio books. I love vintage gear. In the foreground is the vintage Roland JP8000 from 1996, and hidden behind me on my right is my main board, the Roland Fantom X6 from 2005 which has a sequencer on-board. I also have a Roland D50, JD800, JD990, JP8080, Korg 2000R, Yamaha DX-7, Korg M1, Casio CZ1, ESI32 sampler, Korg Microkorg, Novation BassStation, Korg Wavestation A/D, Realistic MG1 and several other tone modules I no longer use. I won't even get into my guitars:eek: , except for the cool guitar synth I'm wearing in the photo, the Casio DG20 from the late 80's. It's a little quirky on the tracking but it's fun! Hey, Ladytron, let's do a collab!

That's some nice gear. I thought I recognised the Casio synth-guitar.

I found this picture on the interweb. I've never played one though.

Of course, you'd have to be travelling faster than light to do this for real, being as M42 is about 24 light years across.

    Hmmm ...

I doubt I'll get to see it through the scope tonight.

It's not so cold, but the clouds seem to be here for a few days.

You have to play it with a firm playing style or else it will get glitchy. This version is MIDI so you can connect it to keyboards and tone modules. I like to use mine to play string pads on my keyboards. Here is a good demo of how it sounds on its own:

You ought to get one. They're pretty cheap and lots of fun!

    Mak?

As you're the adept here with PhotoChop - can you run off some Moire T's? Experiment making the pattern that's best in fine-lines that will cause the eyes to sting from looking at it. When shrunk-down to avatar-size, of course. Hi-Def?

Moiré pattern's can be used as torture-devices if applied in just the 'right' patterns.....

    Bwah! Ha! Ha! Ha!.....

Clouds and rain my way. No stargazing tonight. Oh well, I'll just have to tool around in my studio...

I may do one day. I'm getting some dexterity back in my right arm and fingers, so it could be good therapy.
