    It was quite a challenge, but I was up for it, and with a clear night calling I couldn't resist! Same setup: 180mm Mak, ASI 224mc, Celestron 2x Barlow, Firecapture, Registax 6, and Photoshop. The most difficult part was getting such a dim target (especially using Barlow) onto the sensor:

    Good job on such a hard planet. I checked my Neptune sketch from 2017 and it is very similar to your image, not much, if any detail observable. This is one tough planet.

    Long ago I did go for Pluto, back when it was a planet and the sky was much darker. All I caught was the movement of a faint little dot across the sky over a period of days. I did pat myself on the back for that accomplishment. (The NASA pics are much better - LOL)

    Thanks, Ed. I also went for Pluto several years ago and I believe I did see it. I checked all my charts and barely made out the tiny blip's movements against the background. Tried to image it but nada. Won't try again unless I upgrade my aperture, lol.

    Thanks, Gabby. Pluto's a bit out of my range for now. I tried several years ago for a visual observation with mediocre results, lol. I do believe I saw it though, moving through the background stars in Sagittarius, which I guess is an accomplishment in and of itself
