I was able to image Mars a couple of nights ago. The sky was not ideal. There was a lot of moisture in the atmosphere, which tends to propagate all the nasty light pollution colors that affect the captures. Using GIMP and Photo Studio I was able to correct the colors and come up with a pretty decent image. I used my Tele Vue TV-85, along with the 2" Baader Neodymium filter and TV 3x Barlow. Camera was my ASI290MC. Out of 7,500+ frames I selected 7% for stacking the final image.

Great image, Ed! Lots of detail there including the incredibly shrinking polar cap, the polar hood, Mare Cimmerium and Mare Sirenium. Nice work. I'm waiting for Mars to rise over the big oak tree this opposition evening!
