Just been looking at the moon through my Russian 20x60 Tento binoculars, which at least 25 years old and have made in the USSR on them.I hardly ever use them and bought them as a youth to stargaze with and if I recall I had a tripod adaptation device for them.I suppose 60 mm is the beginning of the giant binoculars class and therefore anything like this should be mounted.they gave amazingly detailed views of the 3/4 moon, with the craters really standing out.however every heartbeat caused them to jump proving that I was still alive but ruining my view some!after a while the weight becomes a challenge too.

Indeed they are!a central bar clasp is needed to tripod mount them as they don't have a screw off cap at the front. The optics are very good but obviously hand holding isn't really an option.

Even with some sort of mount I'd imagine they would be difficult to use when the Moon is high in the ecliptic.

How 'Cold War' that image is! I love it!

Very cool indeed - especially to an old street-fighting anti-war activist like Yours' Truly is.

Great find, Mak! I'll just be swiping that...
