Just a plug! Let folks know about this site. I know a lot of us have a bit of influence on the other Scope Sites, so let them know about it!

Thank you @Datapanic. We appreciate the support! We look forward to creating a great community with great content with the help of all users.

Just a word of caution though - please do not solicit folks on other sites for AC _via_ that site through offline conversations/chats or make direct posts there. These constitute a violation of the TOS on most sites and we don't want you getting into hot water elsewhere on account of this.

No problem @AstronomyConnect - emails and Facebook messages only.

What about posting something on FB group pages?

@Datapanic you can post where you like, just in a few places the owners of a group or site may not like the promotion and may take action. We were just giving you fair warning that you may get some push back, and in some cases we have heard that accounts have been suspended. Personal Facebook pages should be ok but posting on groups you should probably ask a person in charge of the page if it is ok.

I have posted about every safe/ nice place I can think of, Facebook. Yahoo Classic telescopes is a good place to post your thoughts it goes out to 300 members, I also posted a note on Cave astrola yahoo group where I moderate. One place I know of where you will meet your end is AM. This is for sure, anyone who might get bent over any "plugging" of AC is already a member here. Right? LOL

I guess the good news is that there already are a lot of great semi-famous folks that have already signed up here and are committed to help with AC's success and we come with a lot of experience. It's a shame that other sites want to be their own private island and not want to allow sharing of other places out there for more info or a different perspective. I can't think of anything that drives that mindset except for self-gratification and glory seeking. None of us have any idea where AC will go in the weeks, months, and years ahead. I look at it as a good alternative that is worth my time to contribute because it's the users that will eventually make it good and when looking at it from an 8" f/7 or so, it's looking good :)

I had actually posted a topic on another site. I deleted it though. Not because of any negatives there, George saw it and we discussed it in pm. I figured I could let others now in other ways. Its not like I'm limited to one site. I'm a member of several and go to them all. I can't see why it should bother them. Everyone still goes to the others, and I would like to AC grow into something. I know we need more traffic, but you also have to admit, it is kinda in and quiet with the regulars we have. A but t relaxed and drama free! ;)
