Is this a new feature? I don't recall seeing it before on this forum.

Yeah, OK, I spelt 'occurred' wrong in the title, I can't edit it.

Good idea for a new feature though right? ;)

That's interesting. Haven't seen that message yet. I do wish there was more time to edit though

I think it's new. I've seen this on other forums, it's really annoying. If the forum worked without it before, I'm not sure why introduce it now.

I've seen/had that one before. Several causes.

    Whoop-di-do...

This notice drives me *spare on another forum. Honestly.

*British slang meaning angry, crazed, frustrated, mad etc.

This is a message flooding throttle. It is currently set to 30 seconds between messages and I'm assuming this includes editing posts. In terms of actually being able to edit posts I believe that is currently set to 5 min.

In terms of the message throttling that is to insure malicious users or bots are not able to spam the form with automated scripts or very fast typing skills :)

I can disable the message throttling and post editing lockout time for select users or create a new group of trusted users.

I got the notice a couple of times early in the week.
I have been on other forums where there is a 2 minute time limit between postings and as a mod on a couple of different forums it can be quite useful when needing to get things under control.
I do not see it as a problem if you know it is in place.

A 'throttle.' That's a good name for it! Me like!

    Thanks for the explanation.

OK thanks for the info George. Count me in as a select trustworthy user lol. I'm not a bot, I can pass the Turing test ... I think ...

I don't think I'm a bot anyway. Of course, I could be programmed to think I'm not.

We're all fully aware you're not a bot.

But we also know you're an Octopod from Zeta Reticuli with a warrant out for you to stand trial for kidnapping Barney & Betty Hill in New Hampshire back in 1964!

And with your 8 arms, you can type up a storm!

I told you not to tell anyone. I may have to vaporise Vermont now. You brought this on yourself.

It's out of my hands now. The Zeta Reticulan High Command has made a decision. And you can bet your tentacles it's going to involve explosive anal probing.

Oh yeah, Betty and Barney loved every minute of it.

    LOL

On a TV show they said abducted people are held captive inside underground facilities with government workers has well has the Zeta Reticulan themselves, all working together and experimenting on live specimens.

The governments are the #1 liars, the more energy they put in discrediting one thing.. the hardest I have to fight with myself to tell me they are right. For the Zeta Reticulian.. The sad part is, they use science has their first tool to discredit people.

But science has not too much success proving anything about alien life has well has backing governments lies about alien life, or containing the growth of conspiracy theorists and believers with no proofs...

Babylon 5 is really popular on Zeta Reticulan TV, the Star Trek franchise isn't particularly though.
