    Here is a composite of images forming the Sacred Hoop, the Lakota's version of the Winter Circle, passing overhead in the nighttime sky at this time of year:

    The Lakota asterism replaces Aldebaran with the Pleiades, covering a wider swath of sky.

    Cool. I'll try and look for that. Although usually when I look for these things the whole sky turns into some weird gestalt cosmic ink blot test. The only constellations that remotely resemble what they are perceived of in the west are Leo and Draco if you ask me. I really can see the lion and the dragon lol. Maybe ...

    It's interesting what other cultures see in the sky. Sometimes, I can't figure out how some of those constellations got their names, lol. I've made up some of my own. Perseus looks a bit like a wishbone to me
