    just got a 90's Meade Starfinder 8" Dobsonian. Views are great. It's heavy though. and the pivot point for the dobsonain is much farther back than my other dobs. So after a quick disassemble, I found out why. Oh my, the mirror is very thick, and the cell is made partly of pressed board that is very dense. I don't know why they were made this way, but I expect it should hold collimation well.
