Manufacturer Description

Flexible rubber eyeguards reduce ambient light and glare reflections, thus protecting your dark adaptation, while providing the viewer with comfort for maximum visual effectiveness. Eyeguards assure proper eye-to-lens positioning and also protect the optical surface from grime and oil. The eyeguards are made of flexible, yet strong rubber so they will stretch a bit (3-5mm) beyond the nominal diameter noted below to fit over many other eyepieces.

Please note that these are sold individually.

Nominal diameter ~33.5mm (unstretched). Winged eyeguard that fits Antares' 1.25" Ultima Plossl, Abbe Ortho, and many other eyepieces. As a reference, the diameter of the upper barrel these can fit on is 32mm (Antares Plossl) and 34mm (Antares Ortho). Made in Japan.

4.0 It's pretty much the only choice.

      Pros:

      Strong Construction,Compact

      Cons:

      Comments:

This is pretty much the only choice for reticle eyepieces and for finder scopes. And it is only available here. I did purchase another brand a while back that had a flashing feature but it was big, bulky, and broke after first use.

It would be nice for these things to turn off automatically after a few hours of non use. I just can't seem to remember to turn them off and I'm always replacing batteries.

Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
