Manufacturer Description
This adapter allows you to use 1.25" eyepieces in 2" focuser tubes. It is threaded to accept standard 2" filters, so you can use your 1.25" eyepieces with 2" filters.
2" filters screwed onto a 2"-1.25" adapter with 1.25" eyepieces can be very convenient, since you don't need to unscrew and re-screw the filter every time you change eyepieces. However, many shorter 2"-1.25" adapters are usually not long enough to prevent the 1.25" eyepiece barrel from hitting the filter when the eyepiece is inserted into the adapter. Many expensive filters have been scratched and even cracked in this way!
This "High Profile" adapter from Blue Fireball provides the extra clearance needed to ensure that the 1.25" eyepiece barrel will not touch the filter. The adapter is 45mm in length. It provides 15mm of additional clearance compared to their standard low profile adapter; thus it also needs about 15mm of additional in-focus travel.
The adapter also has a brass compression ring that restrains the eyepiece and prevents marring of the eyepiece barrel by the metal set-screw. It weights on 2.4 oz and is a precision machined from black anodized aluminum.

NICE FOR THE PRICE.
Pros: Cons: Comments:A compression ring should be "essential equipment" for a 1-1/4" adapter. This one is very reasonably priced and works just fine.

Jan 26, 2017It's okay, but not great
Pros: Cons: Comments:This is only an okay but not great product. Fit in my diagonal is looser than the GSO or Astrotech diagonals I currently have. Also, it's much lighter weight than competitive products, which might be a plus for some, but not me as it indicates softer aluminum which could be damaged easier. The crimp ring is also thinner and cheaper, and crimps unevenly, meaning eyepieces could be tightened off-center or canted.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
As for the high rise feature, while it will work on 1.25" eyepieces such my short f/l Orthos, it will not work for any dual-barrel 2"/1.25" eyepieces like the Ethos, as the thumbscrew is too short and too fat. The short and fat thumbscrew actually makes it difficult for me to grip and tighten in the dark on 1.25" eyepieces.
I'll keep this as a spare, but I personally can't recommend Blue Fireball products if this is representative. If you're shopping for a high-rise 2-1.25" adapter, I suggest the Tele Vue Hi Hat.This review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com
Feb 6, 2015Great price good quality
Pros:Lightweight,Strong Construction,Accurate
Cons: Comments:I use this with my 10'' dob reflector, fit and finish excellent, great price.

Sep 21, 2012Great adapter
Pros:Compact,Easy to Use,Strong Construction,Lightweight,Accurate
Cons: Comments:Got this to use with my ES eyepieces with a filter. The ES eyepieces have a long barrel, when using a standard adapter the eyepiece will hit the filter. With this adapter this does not happen.

Nov 6, 2011Good Adapter.
Pros:Lightweight,Accurate
Cons: Comments:This is a good adapter but nothing special. If you are looking for a average cost, 2" to 1 1/4" adapter, then this one will work fine.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? YesThis review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com
Jan 2, 2011Nicely machined product
Pros:Flawless finish,Compression Ring,Strong Construction
Cons:None
Comments:I purchased this compression style eyepiece for my APO Refractor since its reducer wasn't a compression type. The adapter has a angled flange so it won't slip or loosen, very nice.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
Also the fit is perfect in the focuser.
The finish is really nicely done & durable.
I cannot find anything at all wrong that I could complain about with this product. This review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com
Dec 18, 2010A Must
Pros:Strong Construction
Cons: Comments:Allows the use of 2" filters with my 1.25" eyepieces. Saves on needing two sizes of filters. The height prevents 1.25" eyepieces from hitting my 2" filters.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? YesThis review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com
Feb 11, 2010Extension and adapter in one
Pros:Strong Construction,Accurate
Cons: Comments:I have a couple 2" filters that I like to put on the 2"-to-1.25" adapter for convenience. I found however that some of my eyepieces have especially long tubes that insert so far that they actually hit the filter on a normal adapter! Ouch. This adapter is perfect, adding 20mm to the eyepiece position as opposed to the 10mm that most adapters add. I also recently started using this with a short focus refractor so that I can achieve focus when not using a diagonal. A simple but well constructed item, this adapter is made of black anodized machined aluminum. It has a brass compression ring, and interior threading for a 2" filter and to cut reflections. Not as sexy looking as others, but a solid and affordable product.

Feb 10, 2010Well made accessory
Pros:Strong Construction,Accurate
Cons: Comments:I use this adaptor mainly when I use a varialbe density polarizing filter with my 1.25" eyepieces adapted to a 2" diagonal on my 11" SCT.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
Without the "high-hat" feature this filter eyepiece combo struck the mirror of my 2" diagonal causing a small but highly irritating scratch to the coating on the mirror. While the diagonal is OK for use (luckily doesn't degrade the use of my 2" eyepieces too noticeably), I resolved to never again use this combo without providing some space for the extra thick filter. Overall the construction of the adapter is very good. This being a simple device I won't go into any further technical merits as most devices currently on the market from major manufacturers such as this are also well made. This review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com
