Burgess Opticle MRF Reticle Finder
Pros:Various patterns; Solid construction; Several mounting configurations; Large screen.
Cons:Some settings could be too bright for night use.
Comments:Rumor has it that this unit started out as a rifle sight, but languished in nowhere land until being rediscovered by a couple of entrepreneurs. The rest as they say is history.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
Built of solid aluminum, this little unit can "take a licking, and keep on ticking". It has a large clear screen upon which at least several red dot patterns can be projected onto. Lets see, there is a dot, dot with circle, circle with cross hairs, circle with cross hairs and dot, etc. Needless to say, you should find a pattern to suit your needs. Patterns are easily selected with a lever at the back of the unit. Brightness is variable over a long range, with the brightest setting being very bright which is great for daytime terrestrial targets.
There are various bases to choose from and installation is very straight forward. Once set, you shouldn't have to worry about realignment or breakage problems like with some of the plastic units on the market.
I like keeping this unit attached to my C80ED. It doesn't get in the way and is a perfect match for use with an alt-azimuth mount. I like the reticle finder very much and highly recommend it.Sort by
