Product Info

Manufacturer Description

This low power Omni eyepiece is a 4 -element premium symmetrical Plossl optical design. Features include blackened lens edges to minimize internal reflection and maximize contrast, multi-layer coating group on each lens surface to maximize light transmission and contrast, and each Omni goes through a two-step anodizing process to prevent reflection from the top eyepiece barrel, unlike most other manufactures who use reflective surfaces. Threaded barrels accept 1-1/4" thread-in filters.

Product carries two-year manufacturer limited warranty (within US/Canada only).

      5.0 Good eyepiece

      Pros:

      Cons:

      Comments:

A solid and well-designed piece of equipment--a pleasure just to hold in the hand, let alone look through. For the price, hard to beat. My current scope is 1000mm (refractor) so this 40mm eyepiece yields a low magnification of 25x with 1.7 degree true FOV--nice for locating objects, framing larger objects, and giving jewel-like views of the planets and binaries, etc. Images are clear with good contrast. I'm very pleased and recommend this one for general low-magnification purposes.

4.0 I would suggest this product to anyone

      Pros:

      Strong Construction,Nice feild of veiw,Accurate

      Cons:

      Heavy

      Comments:

I use it for viewing star clusters and easily apparent double stars. When I am initiating a new stargazer, this is the eyepeice that goes in first to let them see a larger area in clear veiw. The only downfall I have had, is that it is a heavy eyepeice, and I have to counterweight it,but it is the same weight as my zoom eyepeice, so I go from using my 40 to 32 to 24-7 zoom without having to adjust counterweights
