Manufacturer Description
Meade Series 4000 #128 3x Short-Focus Barlow Lens (1.25") #07278 is a compact "shorty" type Barlow that triples the magnification of your 1.25" eyepiece, while offering excellent image quality due to its multi-coated optics. This item is popular due to its excellent quality, value, and usefulness on nearly every model telescope sold.
Insert this into the telescope's eyepiece holder or diagonal first, then insert your eyepiece into the Barlow. It will triple the magnification of the inserted 1.25" eyepiece. It is compatible with nearly any telescope which uses 1.25" eyepieces regardless of brand, and even those with limited focus range.
Product carries full one year Meade factory limited warranty (within US/Canada only).
Note that high magnifications must be used with proper knowledge of the quality of your seeing conditions, the quality of the optics you use, and proper expectations of what magnification powers are reasonable. Boosting already high powers to even higher powers with this or any other barlow is bound to lead to disappointment.

Good so far
Pros: Cons: Comments:When paired with a few of my eyepieces I have found it to work well, I have only had one clear night with it so far. It is very compact for what it is and a good price point.

Apr 19, 2018Great product
Pros: Cons: Comments:An excellent 3x short barlow at a reasonable price. A great value for the money. And, a bit better magnification than the 3x long barlow I used to use.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes

Feb 21, 2018Excellent Perfomance From An Inexpensive Midget
Pros: Cons: Comments:Forget premium barlows at premium prices from Televue, etc. Most are rediculously tall anyway. The images will be no better than this little guy from Meade. This shorty is easy to stack because of its low profile. HIGHLY Recommended.

Sep 17, 2013Meade #128 1.25" 3x Short-Focus Barlow Lens
Pros:Accurate,Strong Construction,Lightweight,Quality Lenses,Compact,Easy to Use
Cons: Comments:I have the 2x Barlow Lens and it works great. I'm sure this 3x Barlow Lens will be the same.

Oct 22, 2012Awesome barlow
Pros:Strong Construction,Lightweight,Affordable,Compact,Easy to Use,Quality Lenses
Cons: Comments:It's a great Barlow. Short, compact, lightweight and easy to focus. Clear on low to midrange viewing, on high magnification of course a loss in detail will occur. I also own a 2x Barlow and I mainly use this with my low to high power viewing.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
I own a Orion spaceprobe 130ST and I pushed it up to 325x using this Barlow and a celestron 6 mm plossl. The moon is magnificent at that magnification, for Jupiter I can see the major bands and moons although not as crisp sharp with an eyepiece alone. The barrel can be removed but it cannot fit with any eyepiece to use it as a 2.5x Barlow.
As a new to astronomy one will wonder if a Barlow is needed or just go for the high power eyepiece. I'd say go for both. Barlow gives you flexibility, it will double you eyepiece set and when used with low power eyepiece you'll still have that eye relief. For high power viewing go for the eyepiece that max out your telescope.
As for agenaastro: Service is great. On time delivery. I am a satisfied customer and will buy from them again. This review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com

Jun 19, 2012A Gem!
Pros:Lightweight,Accurate,Compact,Easy to Use,Quality Lenses
Cons: Comments:Don't let this inexpensive Meade 3X barlow (#128) fool you because it is really a gem. Combined with the Agena SWA 10mm, 15mm, 20mm eyepieces the view of Saturn is indistinguishable from that of my Pentax XWs. Some people may think that this is an exaggeration, but trust me it isn't! Same thing goes for the Meade 2X (#126) too.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
The telescopes used are 10" f/6.3 Newt and 6" F/11 Newt as well. Highly recommended!!!This review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com
Oct 28, 2011Meade #128 Short Focus 3x barlow
Pros:Lightweight,Strong Construction,Easy to Use,Quality Lenses,Accurate
Cons:None
Comments:I needed a 3x Barlow for my Coronado SolarMax II and DMK41 CCD. Other barlow lenses I tried were unsuitable as I could not achieve focus. To the rescue the Meade 3x short focus barlow - I managed to achieve focus and am very satisfied with the views, little or no distortion and no loss of light, very important in imaging solar prominences. Very satisfied and highly recommended.
