Meade 10" LX-200GPS
Pros:Sturdy mount, meaning that it's an excellent scope for astrophotography applications.
Cons:There is a learning curve for the alignment procedures and the electronics.
Comments:Aperture size is the key to how dim an object one can see. A 10" Schmitt-Cassegrain is, to me, an ideal size for stargazing....about as large a scope as I can transport to a dark site.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
I've owned my Meade 10" LX-200GPS for 4 years. I've spent many hours using it. It is a fabulous instrument.
It is no longer being manufactured. It has been replaced by the Meade LX-200R. A few GPS models may still be on supplier's shelves until depleted.Sort by
