The Meade LX70 6" Mak is perfect for the discriminating deep-sky observer. It features an advanced Maksutov-Cassegrain design for pinpoint star images and extraordinary contrast, making it a great deep sky performer and ideal for detailed lunar and planetary observation as it easily soars to high magnifications. Its 6" aperture allows it to resolve details down to 0.76 arc-seconds across and can be viewed using the two included 1.25" Plossl eyepieces (9mm & 26mm). With its 2" 90° degree diagonal it is equipped to handle wide-field 2" eyepieces out of the box. The 8x50 optical viewfinder with cross-hair reticle lets you locate faint objects quickly and easily.
All LX70 optical tube assemblies come complete with an aluminum Vixen-style dovetail and dust covers, and they will provide their owner a lifetime of observing satisfaction. Optical tube weight is 12 pounds. LX70 mount sold separately.

Good buyPros: Cons: Comments:
I like it. As with everything man-made it can be improved upon nothing is perfect. Too bad Meade doesn't market this telescope anymore I would buy another. It does what it is designed too do. Weak points aer focuser, terrible 2" diagonal.
