Smart Astronomy Laser Collimator for Newtonian Reflectors
Pros:No real good news about any of these SM LCs
Cons:Bad laser beams (SQUARE), not collimated before shipping out
Comments:Well...first, this is my second Smart Astronomy laser collimator...no WAIT the 3rd!
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? No
The first LC didn't have the 45-degree view port so I trashed it. Useless to me! The second & third LCs did have the 45-degree port, but both the 2nd & 3rd did not have a true dot where the laser hits it target, but more of a small square beam on the mirrors, and also on the wall. Didn't help me much with my collimation problem.
All three LCs did come with extra set of batteries, but I sure didn't get to use them enough to run the installed set down. But, the cats loved the little square beam!
They were all also in need of collimation when I received them too! Now if anyone was to buy one of these SM LC, ask your questions first. I did but still I was sent the same misaligned laser with a square beam.Sort by
