Astronomy Video — "Sky Gazers" by Babak TafreshiJanuary 21, 2018
In this video assembly of still images and short timelapses, the photographer and founder of The World at Night (TWAN), Babak Tafreshi, presents an inspiring tribute to skygazers around the world who enjoy exploring the night sky with their telescopes.
These timelapses and images were captured between 2007 and 2011 in various locations in Iran, La Palma (Canary Islands), Austria, Germany, and Nepal. Some were made during star parties, and some during a "Messier Marathon" during which a large group of amateur astronomers observed the night sky together and found all 110 objects in the Messier catalog in a single night.
If you've been stuck inside this winter waiting for warmer weather or clearer skies, then sit back and enjoy this video of your fellow stargazers in action...
