      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Astro Hutech are showing the return of the 1.25&quot; Masuyama eyepieces.<br />
These are the ones many copied and called super plossls in the 90s.<br />
<br />
Though Hutech calls them Plossl in the article they are actually a variation of the Zeiss Astroplanar design.<br />
These are superb eyepieces and if you are looking for some very good all round eyepieces, I would recommend them.<br />
Once available I will be purchasing the set. <br />

<br />
It says that the filter meets ISO 12312-2:2015 Standard.<br />
<br />
The price on Svbony.com is $29.99 .  It is not available on Amazon as of yet.<br />
<br />
I personally would not be amongst the first to get one of these.  You never know the quality control and the risk to your eyes.<br />

I have had one for almost 10 months now and the planetary and lunar viewing with it are superb.<br />

If looking for a 20 mm I would highly recommend it as I would have to say it is the best of the lineup. <br />

1.25&quot; barrel without safety undercuts, 45° AFOV, 16 mm eye relief (flat top or eyecup version)<br />

Its focal ratio of f/12.7 should ameliorate any aberration problems that were noticed in the faster 72ED. The initial rationale behind buying these eyepieces was that they were relatively light in weight, ergonomic (I like volcano tops), and had good build quality. The whole SkyMax grab and go kit needed to be light and portable and fit into a small holdall-type bag. I’ve owned the 102mm StarMax for a long time...<br />

I still required a relatively lightweight, uncomplicated 3x Barlow for my ST80 grab and go kit bag. My Tele Vue 3x is a little weighty for the ST80’s aftermarket GSO focuser, especially combined with a zoom. The TV was the first 3x Barlow I ever owned and (rightly or wrongly) I tend to compare all subsequent 3x Barlows with it....<br />

There are other zooms that appear identical to this eyepiece selling under other brand names. They undoubtedly originate from the same OEM. There doesn’t seem to be a great difference in their respective retail prices. The first thing that I noticed with the Orion ‘E-Series’ was how physically light it was. </span> </span><br />

This unusual ‘alleged’ Abbe fully multi-coated orthoscopic has a focal length of 4.8mm. I say ‘alleged’ as I don’t actually know if this is indeed a genuine Abbe design. From what I can gather it has two lens groups consisting of a triplet and a single lens. So, the odds are it is an Abbe eyepiece and very probably manufactured in China. Mine has no brand name but these eyepieces have also been sold as Kson, Ascension, Apogee and University...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I own a 2x GSO Barlow. It’s lightweight, simple and I like its ergonomics. It performs well with my modified ST80 and a Celestron zoom. I have a 5x GSO Barlow (as Revelation Astro) as well. It can suffer from some chromatic aberration however. It doesn’t see much use nowadays as it was replaced by a 5x TV Powermate. <br />

The Starbase four element ‘orthoscopic’ series of eyepieces are distributed by Takahashi Seisakusho Ltd. There are supposedly five in the range consisting of: 20mm, 18mm, 14mm, 9mm and 6mm focal lengths. However the 18mm doesn’t seem to be available outside of Japan yet. The 6mm and 14mm versions are bundled with the Starbase 80 telescope package. <br />

I have a 2&quot; focuser on my scope so could upgrade the filter wheel to their 2&quot; or 51mm model but my question is is it necessary to do so  in order to cover the sensor, which is 8.9mm x 13.3mm?  My 106mm scope has a focal length of 530mm if that figures into the calculation.  The back focus of filter wheel + camera is 33mm.  I took a stab at a calculation but don&#039;t really know how.       <content:encoded><![CDATA[Recently I’ve been testing various 2” eyepieces in some of my 2” diagonals. Most of my diagonals either have a &#039;Fast Lock&#039; type or are Baader ClickLocks.<br />

The Fast Lock type has rods or binders inside the draw tube which engage the eyepiece barrel when the lock is twisted. As a further measure the lever itself can be threaded in as an extra safety lock.<br />
