    David Dickinson is an Earth-science teacher, freelance science writer, retired U.S. Air Force veteran, and backyard astronomer who currently writes and ponders the universe as he travels the world with his wife. He's also the author of the new book "The Universe Today Guide to Viewing the Cosmos: Everything You Need to Know to Become an Amateur Astronomer".
