Epsilon Lyrae is an awesome sight. What's the smallest aperture you've used to split the famous double into the double-double? I've had success with 60mm f/15 refractors at around 100x. Some observers have done it with 50mm refractors...

Soon after I started out in astronomy, I had the opportunity to see the Double-Double for the first time through a Zeiss Telementor refractor at a star party. The scope is 63mm and about f/13 IIRC. I wouldn't know the magnification that was being used though.

My old Monolux 60 x 700mm scope was able to split Epsilon 1 but not Epsilon 2.

I recently bought a set of University Optics HD Orthoscopics, and I can't say enough good things about these $100 eyepieces. Thursday night, in 6/10 seeing, I got a clean split with my Mayflower 815 (Yamamoto 60x910) using the 12mm at just 76x. These Orthos let old optics take it to the limit!
