M57 the ring nebula in a 25mm objective!! Last night I was at a very good dark sky location, actually hiking but as darkness fell I thought that I'd take in the heavens. I only had my 8x25 Opticron monocular with me.just managed to identity the ring bit of mist flicking in and out although unlike m27 unless you know where it is you'd never notice it.m56 just visible too.got m101 and m51 too.m103 would appear very poor not even sure it's a real cluster possibly a chance asterism, even poorer than m39.
