Strangley enough I saw an out of place cat when I was hiking in Co.donegal about 10 years ago.it came out of heather in front of me so I could judge it's size about 3 feet at it's shoulder and sandy in colour.more like a huge domestic cat than a lynx.i don't think it saw me,strangley the sheep nearby where not bothered by it.

I saw the Merthyr Moggy once. Although I was living in Treforest at the time. It stalked me through a small wood I was walking through to get home. I reckon it was the size of a large dog, like an Alsatian. I didn't know what it was and I expected to be ridiculed when I recounted the story in a local pub. Instead others claimed to have seen it and it apparently had attacked sheep locally. It ran off when I shouted at it. Just a big scaredy cat if you ask me.

Hard to tell from the picture how big that one is, definitely feline.the one I saw was sandy and the heather gave me a context to guess it's hight.i quote obi wan Kenobi,"that's no badger!"

These non-indigenous big cats are occasionally reported all over the British Isles. There must be something in it.
