I woke up Thursday morning to this striking apparition of the waning crescent moon and Venus. I couldn't resist a shot!

You are definitely enjoying much clearer skies than me.

I've been fortunate over the last few weeks. Rain just moved in and clouds are forecast for next week, lol. October is a good, steady month for astronomy here in the southeastern United States with slate blue skies in the daytime and mild, clear skies at night. The weather tends to be dry and predictable. We have lots of festivals during this month. November tends to be a little wetter and the first freeze hits.

Reggie, I'm happy you're getting good conditions and turning out some great images. However, I don't think SE Florida got the memo about October. At least I did get one good image of Jupiter for 2023.

LOL. I should have qualified my weather report. That's how it is Georgia, haha!
