    It is interesting but since I began posting, I have noticed that only a handful of members post.
    Is there any reason behind this and how long has this posting dehydration been going on?

    I possibly see two reasons;

    First, a lot of folks gave up posting during that site crash about 2 years ago, it was down for a rather long time.

    Second, there isn't an off topic area.

    While it was decided there would not be one, which is fine with me, off topic areas can promote comradimy between members during bad weather and times when interest can wane.

    Maybe a thread like, What did you do today? could help.
    It would increase post count on the site and may help search engines to locate it.

    One thing that an off topic area could do is trigger arguments, etc creating work for moderators

    Off topic forums can be both good and bad, unfortunately being human we have opinions and some people seem to think that theirs is more important than others.
    On a couple of different forums if I made the statement that I did not think TeleVue or Astro-Physics were the best, I would be criticised for my obvious lack of knowledge. :)

    LOL, those are fighting words Gabby, I'm just kidding of course.

    I've seen some pretty bad fights in Refractors and in Eyepieces over on "that" forum.

    Bring it on Jeff! :D

    There is a popular island based forum that can be just as bad if not worse at times.

    Politics and religion are topics that do not mix well when dealing with strangers.
    Topics best left for discussion with people you know.

    Very true, both are topics avoided at my home.
