Manufacturer Description
This 1.25" Agena enhanced wide angle eyepiece is sure to provide many “ooohs,” “ahhhs,” and “wows” from those who take advantage of its generous 66-deg field of view. With features generally found in more expensive eyepieces, this ocular will escalate the joys of viewing with high-contrast views and amazing color correction.
This high quality eyepiece features a 5-element design that offers superior sharpness. All air to glass surfaces have a multi-layer coating (so these are fully multi-coated, even though the barrel imprint may say "multi coated") for maximum light transmission. The long eye relief allows for a comfortable viewing distance. All lens edges are blackened for superior contrast. The insert tube is smooth-sided and is threaded for standard 1.25" astronomy filters.
Order one today to start enjoying wide and comfortable high-power views of Saturn’s Rings, Jupiter’s Bands, icecaps on Mars, and more! The generous field of view of this eyepiece also allows for wide views of the Moon and deep-sky objects at moderate magnification.
Please also note that on the barrel, these are labeled as "Ultra Wide" but we call them "Enhanced Wide Angle" to distinguish them from our 80-deg UWA eyepieces.

good eyepiece for the price
Pros: Cons: Comments:This eyepiece works very good. using an 8" f/5.9 reflector the outer edge is slightly out of focus, but not bad at all. I am very satisfied with this eyepiece.

Jul 15, 2014Functionally the same as a 20mm Expanse
Pros:Excellent widefield views
Cons:None
Comments:I was unable to find a used 20mm Orion Expanse eyepiece to match the one I have for binoviewing, so I took a chance on this version, after hearing that it is the same eyepiece at a significant savings. MY EXPERIENCE: This version and the 20mm Expanse are essentially interchangeable. During the day, I tried each eyepiece in an 80mm spotting scope and found I could go from one to the other with no difference in views. In my 127mm refractor, not only were the views of M15 and Comet Garradd also identical, but I was able to use this eyepiece with the Expanse in my binoviewers with excellent results. This eyepiece is a great value!

Feb 8, 2014Great value for money
Pros:Easy to Use,Strong Construction,Quality Lenses
Cons: Comments:Notes from a beginner: Currently used with a Celestron 127SLT (127mm x 1500mm). Much better than the reasonable yet cheap eyepiece shipped with the 127SLT. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Jan 25, 2014Agena 1.25" Enhanced Wide Angle Eyepiece - 20mm

Sep 22, 2012Rich Wide-Angle Star-Field Scanner
Pros:Quality Lenses,Lightweight,Strong Construction
Cons: Comments:This eyepiece does not disappoint. It performs quite well when compared to more expensive eyepieces that I own. What impressed me most is the long eye-relief and large AFOV. Although it is recommended to use wide-angle eyepieces in longer focal length telescopes, it performs well in my 10 inch F/5 Dobsonian. It has some distortion towards the edge of the FOV, but this is to be expected in a fast telescope. I use the Agena for scanning star fields and finding faint DSO's. Although I have other eyepieces for very specialized situations, I find myself reaching for my Agena more and more.

Dec 28, 2011Not too bad for the money
Pros:Easy to Use,Lightweight
Cons: Comments:All in all for the money this lense isn't that bad. It has a good field of view but the image seems to be a little soft with not as much contrast as other lenses I've looked threw. If you want a good lense that won't break the bank I would sugest looking at the Baader Hyperion Eyepieces -they are really nice and hard to beat for the money unless you want to upgrade to something as expensive as Televue. But as far as this lense gose they definitley beat the cheap possl eyepieces that most scopes come with.
