Flexible rubber eyeguards reduce ambient light and glare reflections, thus protecting your dark adaptation, while providing the viewer with comfort for maximum visual effectiveness. Eyeguards assure proper eye-to-lens positioning and also protect the optical surface from grime and oil. The eyeguards are made of flexible, yet strong rubber so they will stretch a bit (3-5mm) beyond the nominal diameter noted below to fit over many other eyepieces.
Please note that these are sold individually.
Nominal diameter ~29mm (unstretched). Height = 12.5mm. These are from GSO's 1.25" Plossl eyepieces. As a reference, the diameter of the barrel extension this eyeguard sits over on the 1.25" eyepiece is 31.7mm. Can be folded down. Made in Taiwan.

It's pretty much the only choice.Pros:
Strong Construction,CompactCons: Comments:
This is pretty much the only choice for reticle eyepieces and for finder scopes. And it is only available here. I did purchase another brand a while back that had a flashing feature but it was big, bulky, and broke after first use.
It would be nice for these things to turn off automatically after a few hours of non use. I just can't seem to remember to turn them off and I'm always replacing batteries.
