Synta-style dovetail base for finders and finder brackets. Will work with most compatible bracket designs from Celestron, Orion, Synta, Vixen, etc. Not meant for SCT telescopes which need a wider screw hole spacing. Please see the photos for detailed dimensions and to determine compatibility with your telescope or finder/finder bracket - we are unable to make specific recommendations about compatibility.
Drilled (but not threaded) to accommodate screws up to 4mm in diameter. Center-to-center screw hole spacing on your telescope must be 18.6mm (0.76") in order for this dovetail base to be compatible. Fits tubes 3.25" and larger in tube diameter (not telescope aperture), as well as flat surfaces.
The base is made of die-cast metal and features a large thumbscrew lock. Includes two M4 screws, although your telescope might require different screws. Finish may be smooth black or hammertone gray, depending on available stock. Style of large silver locking thumbscrew may vary.

Agena Synta Vixen Style Dovetail basePros:
Mounts Easily,Works Well,Strong Construction,Easy to Use,LightweightCons: Comments:
I bought this vixen style dovetail mount for use on a refractor to mount a finder scope. It mounts easily and holds the finder scope securely. Great, simple product. I've purchased many products from Agena, and have always been very happy with their service.

Exactly What I needed, at the Lowest Price I Could FindPros:
Lightweight,Strong Construction,Accurate,Compact,Easy to UseCons: Comments:
I bought these for a 14-inch reflector I'm building. I wanted two so that I could easily move my finder from awkward angles when using the scope on my EQ mount. Agena had everal finder shoe options, all at great prices, and these were exactly right.

Best price I found for just what I need!Pros:
Strong Construction,Perfect Fit,Easy to Use,CompactCons: Comments:
I needed a finder bracket for my refractor, and this one was just right. The 'legs' on the sides were high enough that the bracket screwed on squarely and tightly to the round tube of the focuser. The description at Agena made it clear that this would be sure, whereas other sites didn't.

Agena sells quality products,Pros:
Lightweight,Compact,Strong Construction,Easy to Use,AccurateCons: Comments:
This Dovetail Mounting Base is useful for all sizes of telescopes. The most important information I can say about the use is that it allows you to easily remove a mounted accessory to avoid damage during the transportation and storage.

Handy and efficient add-onPros:
Easy to Use,Compact,Strong Construction,LightweightCons: Comments:
Perfect for adding a small guidescope and still being able to use your finder.
The kind of item you're glad to find when you need it!
I'm using an Antares 80mm giant findercope with and added helical focuser, so I can use it with a guiding camera. The additonal shoe allows me to plug my spare 90

A small, but critical accessoryPros:
Easy To Attach To OtaCons:
Set Screw Is MetalComments:
Some amateur astronomers have multiple telescopes, each dedicated to achieving the user's whims. One problem with having many different 'scopes is that the finder telescope supplied with each may not only have very different build and use philosophies (e.g., red-dot, optical, Telrad, green-laser-pointer, etc), but they are generally not interchangeable between telescopes. Enter the Vixen dovetail mounting base. I have one of these on each of my OTAs, that enables me to use the same finder on each telescope. Furthermore, by purchasing appropriate mounting accessories, I can now transfer my GLP, or Telrad, or red-dot finder, or 6x30, or 8x50 optical finders between OTAs. This would not be possible without this inexpensive, but highly utilitarian and indispensible piece of equipment.
