Manufacturer Description
Antares ALP/Nebular Filter Light pollution filters, also called nebular filters, are a must when viewing faint objects near city lights. These filters selectively block the major spectral emission lines of both sodium and mercury vapor lamps which are the main two types of urban illumination. These broadband filters also block the natural oxygen line at 557.7nM, while allowing transmission of most of the spectral lines of emission nebula. Comes in a foam-lined plastic case. Filter is threaded to fit on all standard 2" eyepiece barrels (M48x0.75 thread). Manufacturer part number 2LPB.

Antares ALP dual bandpass haz'eliminator
Pros:Advanced Technology
Cons:Forward placement filter
Comments:The Antares ALP light pollution filter/Nebula lens reduces haze, glare & wash-out of objects where interference from other sources like Mercury Vapor, HiPressure Sodium, Halogen, or Tungsten fixtures may be in the area. The filter held to look through appears like a 2-way mirror, sees through one way, but reflects in the other. Because of it's strong repelling of UV, and Mid-visible-spectrum light, the dual bandpass filter still has a high transmission in the two ranges, Teal, and Rose. A higher resolution of faint details can be appreciated using LPR (light pollution reducing) filters. For video examples of the Antares ALP Light Pollution Reducing/Nebula filter visit the Nov. 2009 Jupiter Transit clip at [@]
