Product Info
Manufacturer Description
Find it fast! Antares 50mm finders will let you see and target faint objects like globular clusters without star charts, even near city limits. Standard features include multicoated objective lens, eyepiece with rubber eyeshield, 52 degree apparent field, internal baffling, dust caps and focusable wire reticle.
Note that focusing this finder is achieved by sliding the reticle eyepiece up or down within the diagonal. The included 27mm eyepiece is removable and can be replaced by another eyepiece should you wish to change the magnification. However, as there is very limited focus travel as explained above, there are no guarantees whether other eyepieces/accessories/imaging devices will reach focus.
Available in a choice of three colors to match your telescope. 50mm finder bracket is not included and can be purchased separately.
Specifications:
Weight (excluding eyepiece) = 14.6 oz.
Weight (including eyepiece) = 17.5 oz.
Length (total) = 208mm (8.2")
Length (central tube only, excluding dewshield/coupler/diagonal) = 94mm (3.7")

A decent finder scope for the price
Pros:Lightweight,Easy to Use,Compact
Cons:Poor Lens Quality
Comments:This finder scope has a nice wide field of view, which is why I purchased it as I star hop to my targets. But the overall optical quality is just average after comparing it to a Stellarvue 9x50 finder, which showed brighter/higher contrast views.

May 30, 2013Antares Right Angle finder is great!
Pros:Accurate,Strong Construction,Easy to Use
Cons: Comments:This finder fit the bill for an old back. When you have to get down on your knees to see through a straight through finder it is hard. With the right angle you only have to bend over to set up the models on your telescope.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes

Dec 26, 2011Antares View Finder
Pros:Lightweight,Strong Construction,Quality Lenses,Accurate,Easy to Use
Cons: Comments:The Antares 7.5x50mm Right Angle Correct-Image Finder is a good replacement for the straight-through image finder that came with my Meade LX90 telescope. Only wished I had purchased the Antares 7.5x50mm finder with the illuminated cross-hairs. I find it a little difficult to center stars with the non-illuminated cross-hairs. However, they work fine when centering a bright object such as the moon.

Oct 28, 2011StellarVue knock-off?
Pros:Cheaper than a StellarVue
Cons:Difficult To Focus
Comments:I use this as a finder with a 4" ED refractor, 900mm FL. It is somewhat awkward to focus. My model allows rotation of the diagonal, which is very convenient to avoid neck-breaking contortions when trying to view. However, this comes with a severe price: rotation of the diagonal can drastically change the finder alignment -- sometimes to such an extent that you cannot align the finder with the scope. This may be why later models have the diagonal screwed into the body. The objective is simply held in place by the dew shield. All in all, the finder exudes an air of cheap construction. It can be made to do the job, but if I had it to do over, I would have sprung for the 50% premium and gotten the StellarVue.

Sep 18, 2009Antares 7x50 Right-Angle Correct Image Finder Scope
Pros:Good quality, good optics, well made.
Cons:None
Comments:Simplifies locating sky objects. Right angle a real plus. Good quality. Actually I also use the eyepiece (Kellner -27mm) with adjustable focus as a regular viewing eyepiece in my scope during alignment because of the value of the crosshairs. Recently purchased a second eyepiece from Agena Astroproducts [..] to eliminate having to switch eyepieces.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? YesMay 26, 2009Excellent Value
Pros:Accurate,Strong Construction,Compact,Quality Lenses
Cons: Comments:I've used this product on several refractors. Note I said "several"! If I didn't like it or like using it, would I have said that??? It does the job quite well. I especially like the RACI feature.

Feb 1, 2009What ease to use
Pros:Great View,Adjusts easily
Cons:None
Comments:This right angle finder is a dream to use. No more trying to look down the straight finder supplied with scope. Very clear optics, cross hairs stand out great. It was a little hard to mount in my telescope's factory finder bracket. I would recommend getting the Antares bracket made for this finder scope. Ordered finder scope from Agena Astroproducts. I would recommend both Antares and Agena. I will be buying more acc. from them.
