AT2SDQ 2inch diagonal
Pros:The finish is nice
Cons:Did not perform to expectations. Eyepieces get stuck in the brass ring.
Comments:I just purchased this product because I have a new C14 SCT that comes with the standard Celestron diagonal (it sells separate for $69). I decided to upgrade to the AT2SDQ based on the specs and vendor description. Frankly I did not see much of a difference between the stock diagonal and this one. I also did not detect much of a contrast change in the images or an increase sharpness. Considering that this diagonal sells for $200 I do not believe it was worth it. Maybe the night was not conducive to do a comparison test, but I am not impressed so far.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? NoJan 29, 2008Best upgrade diagonal.
Pros:Bright, bright image; no distortion.
Cons:Outer finish of mirror box is not very durable.
Comments:I bought this unit to go in my Astro-Tech AT66ED APO refractor after seeing how well their 1.25" diagonal worked, as I wanted to try my 2" eyepieces in it. The images are very bright, almost as if you were suddenly looking through a somewhat larger scope. Next I tried it on my Celestron C6S-GT, and let me just say that it hasn't come off since! The best upgrade I made for my C6S-GT.
