Manufacturer Description
Many of the world's finest oculars are only available as .965" versions. This reducer will allow you to upsize your .965" eyepieces and accessories to the 1¼” standard., and to make use of 1¼” filters! That's right, our reducer incorporates filter threads, and is the only .965 reducer we have ever seen that includes them! Now, you can finally make use of nebula and colored filters with your quality .965" eyepieces. Why it took this long to finally get this feature to market, we'll never know...
The accurate machining is especially useful for users of popular 1¼” Bino-Viewers. Now, you can make use of the numerous high quality .965" eyepieces (Takahashi/Pentax/Nikon/Zeiss), minimizing misalignments caused by decentering. A broad recessed retention groove adds a measure of safety, and the nickel plated brass lock screw has been machined with a radiussed point, in order to minimize marks on your fine eyepieces.

Worth the Quality
Pros: Cons: Comments:Having had the Blue Fireball 0.965 to 1.25" adapter I can say that the Baader version is of a higher quality. The Baader is a lot more expensive... and I required 2 for use on a binoviewer system. I was inspired to order the Baader chiefly due to the lack of a compression ring. Upon arrival I noted these Baader adapters a type of flat mat anodizing (is it Type III anodizing?) with beautiful accuracy and a better thumb screw. The two Pentax eyepieces fit snugly and I replaced the thumb screw with a stainless grub screw (with cup tip) to permanently secure them into the adapters.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
In conclusion the Baader 0.965 to 1.25" adapter has a (subjectively) better flat mat anodizing and better thumb screw than the Blue Fireball. And it lacks a compression ring system - a plus to some - though in this application as a permanent adapter it is not an issue. Machining accuracy is the same as in the Blue Fireball. The 0.965 eyepieces sit in the adapter with the same minute amount of play as in the Blue Fireball. I was hoping for an even tighter fitting tolerance on the inside 0.965 in these Baader adapters, but it was not the case, sadly. Still, I would probably buy again just to get the beautiful non-reflective anodize finish. This review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com
