Product Info

Manufacturer Description

This eyepiece adapter allows 1.25" eyepieces and accessories to be used in 2" focusers, diagonals and barlows. It has an optical length of only 1mm. Includes a brass compression ring that restrains the eyepiece and prevents marring of the eyepiece barrel by the metal set-screw. The thumbscrew on this model is on the side of the adapter body (see photo above), so it is perfect for use with "low profile" focusers that have a side notch to accept this screw. Otherwise, you may not be able to slide this adapter completely inside a focuser since the thumbscrew might get in the way.

Baader part number: T2-15a or 2408151

      5.0 Works great

      Pros:

      Cons:

      Comments:

I am using this with a JMI focuser. The original JMI did not include a safety undercut so my imaging train slipped out several times. This adapter has the undercut so it will not accidentally slip and damage anything.

5.0 Great combo with the Baader focuser

      Pros:

      Cons:

      Comments:

Works well, very low profile. When mounted in the Baader focuser, it's quite difficult to remove the 1.25" eyepiece without first removing the adapter. Obviously, it holds the eyepiece quite snugly. It fits the Baader focuser perfectly, as you would expect.

      5.0 Exactly what I needed!

      Pros:

      Easy to Use,Lightweight,Compact,Accurate,Strong Construction

      Cons:

      Comments:

I made a telescope with a lens I bought for the purpose, but some of my eyepieces would not reach focus with my diagonal. Rather than cutting the tube (which would have caused other difficulties), I bought this excellent accessory.

It was like someone designed it just for me!

5.0 Baader 2"-1.25" Low Profile Reducer

      Pros:

      Accurate,Lightweight,Strong Construction

      Cons:

      Comments:

I decided I needed a low profile adapter to convert my 50mm finderscope to a guider. I purchased the Baader 2"-1.25" low profile adapter, and then used this to fit on the end of the 50mm finerscope. A perfect fit, all I needed was to drill two holes in the finder and it was completed. The Baader adapter is already drilled and threaded for additional screws so was so easy to fit. Now I have a great guiderscope for minimal cost. Just what I needed. And it locks my guider nice and tight. It is also lightweight which is important as I wanted to keep the weight at a minimum.

      4.0 Better than anticipated

      Pros:

      Compact,Strong Construction,Accurate

      Cons:

      Comments:

I needed a bit more in focus on my home made 16" Dob to accomadate all my eyepieces. This prooved to be the solution. As an added bonus, this adapter is very well made. The over sized thumb screw makes changing E.Ps with gloves or mitts on possible. It tightens and loosens with little effort. It's just an adapter...but what a good adapter it truly is.
