Manufacturer Description
Baader Item #2958027
Hyperion 2" Finetuning Stop Ring (with internal brass compression ring) is an additional accessory for the Baader Hyperion eyepieces. It is to be used when observing with a 2" mirror or prism star diagonal and prevents the 1.25" eyepiece barrel from hitting and damaging the mirror star diagonal or prism, whenever additional Finetuning Rings are lengthening the original eyepiece body. The second photo above demonstrates the combination of a Hyperion eyepiece, a 14mm finetuning ring, a 2" stop ring and a 2" diagonal mirror.
Of course, the use of this item is not restricted to Baader eyepieces only. It can also be used as a premium 2" parfocalizing ring with any brand of 2" eyepiece or 2" astronomy accessory. Features two large clamping thumbscrews for quick, no-tools hand use; virtually all other parfocalizing rings on the market use cumbersome set screws requiring allen keys for loosening/tightening.

A bit pricey but it works well
Pros: Cons: Comments:I use it to keep the long nose of my Baader Hyperion Modular eyepiece away forn the mirror in the diagonal

Apr 10, 2017Works Great
Pros: Cons: Comments:Needed to provide a little extra back-focus for eyepieces used with a Newtonian reflector. Very easy to slip on and off and adjust position or move from one eyepiece to another. Quality construction including brass compression ring. It works just like it's supposed to.

Mar 22, 2013Baader Stop Ring
Pros:Easy to Use,Strong Construction,Lightweight
Cons: Comments:I needed to adjust the eyepiece spacing for a particular setup in my solar wedge. This stop ring worked perfectly.

Nov 30, 2012A must have tool
Pros:Easy to Use,Lightweight,Compact,Accurate,Strong Construction
Cons: Comments:If you have Hyperion eyepieces with finetuning rings, and use them in a 2" diagonal, this is a must have item.

Jun 5, 2011I'll get more of these
Pros:Strong Construction
Cons: Comments:My telescope focuser just doesn't have the travel to make every eyepiece work. This adjustment ring mounted on the barrel of my (big) 2" eyepiece allows me to just stick it in, focus, and voila. I'll get more. Really worth it.

Jan 2, 2011Approved, small concerns / alternatives
Pros:Compact,Strong Construction,Soft on barrel surfaces
Cons: Comments:Keeps filters from touching the diagonal mirror. The tightening system is great. Fits best on the largest diameter of the eyepiece barrel (not very long on hyperion eyepieces, so placement is limited for good stability). Evaluate a barrel extender as an alternative.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? YesThis review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com
Aug 30, 2009Excellent ring but a bit pricey
Pros:Strong Construction,Accurate
Cons: Comments:These are excellent rings but a bit pricey. The only down side is that the thumb screw sticks out if you want to leave this ring semi-permanently attached to your eyepiece.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
On the other hand it makes field adjustments very easy. This review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com
