Manufacturer Description
This popular eyepiece adapter allows 1.25" eyepieces and accessories to be used in 2" focusers, diagonals and barlows. It includes a brass compression ring that restrains the eyepiece and prevents marring of the eyepiece barrel by the metal set-screw. It is precision machined from aluminum and anodized black.
Threaded to accept standard 48mm filters so you can use your 1.25" eyepieces with your 2" filters (be careful not to let the eyepiece barrel hit the filter though).

Blue Fireball 2" to 1.25" adapter
Pros: Cons: Comments:Like other Blue Fireball adapters, this one is about as good as it gets. It is flawlessly machined, beautifully (anodized) finished, perfectly functional and fits every application I have for it. On top of that, it is bargain priced compared to other similar adapters. Also worth noting is that eyepieces don't get hung up when inserting them like I've experienced with other such adapters. As always, Agena service and shipping is the best.

Aug 31, 2017Sturdy and to spec

Apr 10, 2017Perfect for the price
Pros: Cons: Comments:The Blue Fireball is my 3rd 2"-to-1.25" adapter and the one I like the best. All 3 have brass locking rings, but 1 of the others has the tolerances too tight and it is difficult for me to insert a few eyepieces. The second one is recessed and just doesn't work with one of my 2 scopes. The Blue Fireball works smoothly with all of my 1.25" eyepieces and allows me to use the adapter with both scopes.

Feb 18, 2017Excellent Adapter
Pros: Cons: Comments:I was looking for a package on my SCT (to replace the 1.25” visual back) that would support both 1.25” and 2” accessories and thread to the SCT directly. This in combination with the Blue Fireball 2” to SCT Adapter performed the job admirably. Plus the benefit of having compression rings to minimize scratching on accessories. Also, the 2” to SCT Adapter is the perfect spacing for my Canon DSLR. Both products are excellent and high quality. Definitely recommend.

Feb 17, 2017Blue Fireball 2" to 1 1/4 " Eyepiece Adapter
Pros: Cons: Comments:I like the adapter mostly. Eyepieces catch on the rim just below the copper ring and you have to jiggle them to get them slid all the way into the adapter. Maybe that is how they all work. Other than that I like the adapter. Service from Agena AstroProducts is top notch.

Jan 30, 2015Just what I needed
Pros:Strong Construction,Easy to Use
Cons: Comments:I bought a scope from an estate with a 2" focuser and the 2" to 1.25" adapter was missing, the Agena model was at a very reasonable price and was exactly what I needed.

Oct 8, 2014Blue Fireball 2" to 1.25" Eyepiece Adapter
Pros:Easy to Use,Lightweight,Strong Construction
Cons: Comments:This eyepiece adaptor is robust and solid enough to provide great security for my eyepieces and stability for using further adaptors in my imaging train. They remain light enough not to add to much additional weight to my system. The internal compression rings protects my eyepiece barrels from lock screw damage. Perfect for the price and great quality! I always shop with Agena for all my adaptors. Such a great range at excellent prices.

May 30, 2013Great Product, Great Price, Great Service
Pros:Strong Construction
Cons: Comments:I had a customer in Norway who needed a 2" to 1.25" adapter for use with the camera I was selling him and his Meade telescope. I found this product on line, ordered it and it arrived quickly. It is well constructed and when the customer received it along with the other items I shipped to him, he was impressed with it as well.

Sep 21, 2012An indispensable adapter
Pros:Compact,Strong Construction,Easy to Use,Lightweight
Cons: Comments:This is a great adapter to have handy near your telescope. It's lightweight, yet solid built. It has the brass eyepiece compression ring for secure installations and will not mar your eyepiece barrels. It's also threaded for filters, a great feature for added versatility.

Dec 22, 2010Great Quality!
Pros:Strong Construction
Cons: Comments:I purchased this adapter to replace a WO adapter that I had mis placed and this one worked just as well and did the job that it was meant to do. It is not the prettiest adapter in the world but at this price point and in the dark, I really do not think that cosmetics are an issue. I use this adapter in both my WO diagonal and my Pro Optic diagonal which are both high end dielectrics and not only did this adapter fit perfectly but it performed as it should.

Dec 19, 2010A superior adapter I would instal again
Pros:Strong Construction,Accurate,Compact
Cons: Comments:All the members of the Astronomical Society of Tasmania who have used this adapter rate it superior with the internal copper ring easily holding the eyepiece with a simple turn that grips the shaft centrally without scoring the metal. We can not find anything to complain about

Apr 26, 2010Very Functional Bargain
Pros:Nice Finish,Strong Construction
Cons:No Safety Undercut
Comments:I needed a 2"-1.25" adapter for the Orion Astroview 100mm f/6 OTA that I just purchased used and thought that this would fill the bill. For the price it most certainly does and it will become a permanent part of my accessory kit. The finish is very nice, the weight and overall manufacturing quality is also very nice. It is not often that you find an adapter at this price point with brass compression rings. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that the end that goes into the focuser does not have a safety undercut and this would be more suited for use as a true EP adapter sitting in the top of a diagonal or Barlow. I just like the safety undercut as an added measure to prevent possibly several hundred dollars of EP and diagonal from hitting the deck. All in all though this is a great accessory at a great price.

May 27, 2009Wonderful Solution!
Pros:Strong Construction
Cons: Comments:The adapter gets the job done very well, allowing me more eyepiece flexibility. Just what I needed, at the usual Agena bargain price. Note that the depth of the adapter may not be enough to prevent a 1.25" eyepiece or diagonal from contacting a 2" filter (ie. a minus violet filter in my situation) screwed into objective side of the adapter. The solution is to first put in the 1.25" eyepiece or diagonal, and then thread-on the filter just enough to avoid contact (I added a thin rubber O-ring onto the filter threading to take-up the slack and give a firm screwed-on feel).
