Not bad..
Pros:Pretty good performance at little cost
Cons:If you want focus control you better move on.
Comments:I've had a pair of these for quite a few years now. Been handy for quick views of the property, some bird watching, and of course astronomy. These give pretty good views for the price.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
Remember these are "permafocus" binoculars meaning they are focused at the factory, and can't be altered. So after a certain viewing distance out they are in focus, and they do that job well. Kinda neat to pick em up and just start viewing. However my mom has bad vision making these absolutely useless without manual control available.
The image for viewing the night sky was so-so. I bit dim actually. And without focus control I felt I wasn't getting the best views possible. The sharpness across the field breaks up rather quickly after about half way. I think these are better for daytime quick peeks at stuff.
The construction is fine, the lenses work well, eyeguards comfortable, never had any problems with ghosting or collimation. Really not bad for 50 bucks. Handy and effective. I've enjoyed them. But it can be frustrating not being able to adjust the focus to your liking. Permafocus is an interesting idea, but I don't think it really works..Sort by
