Pros:Great fit and finish; Fully multicoated; 80* field of view.
Cons:Heavy; No eyecup.
Comments:This is great wide angle eyepiece for the money. I paid about $99 for it several years ago. It is quite heavy, weighing in at about 1.2 pounds. The eyepiece is a 5 element design, lenses are fully multicoated, the edges are blackened, and fit and finish are top drawer. Plus, there is 22mm of eye relief and no kidney-bean effect.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
The outer 20% may appear a little soft when used with fast scopes in the f/5 or faster range; however, I've had great results with my f/6 100mm scope, and even better images in my 80ED f/7.5 apo. The views are simply stellar!
Again, this is a "Big" 2 inch eyepiece that could easily upset your scope's balance, depending on the setup you're using. Truly, a nice eyepiece to have when savoring those wide open, deep sky vistas. Recommended.Sort by
