Manufacturer Description

Celestron's Moon Filter is an economical eyepiece filter for lunar observation. It reduces the brightness of the moon and renders it a green color thus improving contrast and allowing greater detail to be observed on the lunar surface. The clear aperture is 21mm and the transmission is about 18%.

Product carries full two year factory limited warranty (within US/Canada only).

      The moon filter I got was a black plastic material (rather than metal or aluminum) with grooves that didn't thread into my eyepiece.

      5.0 Moon and Planetary filter

      Very good filter. Greatly reduces brightness of the moon and planets, providing ease of subtle details to stand out.

      This filter also works very well for reducing the brightness of planets as with Venus. The moon filter will also help in the splitting of double stars when one star is brighter.
