Engineered from the ground up with astroimaging in mind, the new Advanced VX series from Celestron sets a new standard in mid-level telescopes.
Advanced VX provides you with many of the features found on Celestron’s most sophisticated German equatorial mounts, at an extremely affordable price. The new Advanced VX mount was specifically designed to provide optimum imaging performance for smaller telescopes. Now your smaller telescope can take advantage of All-Star Polar Alignment and autoguider support. You’ll be able to track through long exposures using permanently programmable periodic error correction. Image across the meridian without doing a meridian flip, so you can seamlessly image the best part of night sky.
Advanced VX features significantly larger base castings than our previous design, improving stability under heavier loads. Improved motors offer more torque and can handle slight load imbalances with ease. Experienced imagers will love taking this portable mount to a dark sky site, with all the performance of their larger observatory mount. Or, if you’re new to imaging, this mount will help you get started with the hobby and keep up with your needs for years to come.
Product carries full 2 year Celestron factory limited warranty (within US/Canada only).

Good, economical mount.Pros: Cons: Comments:
This was my second AVX mount and I've been very happy with both. It's economical, lightweight, looks sharp, and performs very nicely. Along with a PoleMaster for polar alignment, I reached almost "straight line" tracking using PhD guiding software. Using the mount interchangeably for a 4" refractor and 9.25" SCT.

I bought the one with the standard mounting plate..Pros: Cons: Comments:
I got one of these several months ago, before they changed the mounting plate.
I use the mount for a 4" f5 refractor. I do visual astronomy. This mount is a fine mount and will serve my purpose for years to come. Once aligned, it centers every object I want to see. Visual astronomy made easy.
No more looking forever for an object using a manual mount. I am jazzed.
I have had zero problems with it since I received it, and I've had it out several times. Now that the weather has cleared, I expect my nights are booked.
Clear skies all!

A great upgradePros: Cons: Comments:
This is a good solid entry level mount in my opinion. Stable, and easy to align and allows me to take the long exposure shots i wanted to take that the factory mount would not let me do.
Unfortunately my first mount had issues with alignment. As in no matter what I did it wouldn't perform accurate goto's despite having the mount aligned and 4 calibration stars added. Objects were nowhere near center.
Luckily Celestron has some of the best customer service i've ever experienced. I'm already a huge fan of their products, but experiences like that will keep me a customer for life.

Great ASGT ReplacementPros:
Strong Construction,Accurate,Easy to UseCons: Comments:
Replaced malfunctioning ASGT with this mount and very happy with Celestron's changes. Power switch, Dec cable ports, alt/az polar alignment screws are all significantly improved. Result is a great go-to mount that is good value for amateur astronomer and beginner/intermediate astrophotography. I use with Celestron C8.

I would by this mount againPros:
Strong Construction,Easy to Use,AccurateCons: Comments:
Get the AC power cord to power mount. Only had the mount for a couple months used two or three times so I haven't completely tested everything out. It's a very good looking mount, sets up pretty quick, aligned and tracked well only visual
so far. That's why I only give it 4 stars. hope this helps

Easy to Use,Accurate,Strong ConstructionCons: Comments:
I bought this mount to use with my Celestron C5 for astrophotography. When it came in I did not anticipate how large it would be. The C5 looks tiny compared to the mount but that also means it is rock solid. I bought the SkySync GPS accessory to make setup faster.
